Remodel Inherited Jewellery | Heirloom Jewellery Redesign London
Not every meaningful piece of jewellery is inherited.Sometimes it's a treasured gift. Sometimes it's a ring that no longer reflects your style. Other times, it's a piece you simply never reach for.Jewellery remodelling allows you to preserve the sentiment behind a piece while transforming it into something you'll genuinely love wearing.
At Moyiola Abeo, we specialise in bespoke jewellery remodelling, helping clients redesign inherited jewellery, gifted pieces and existing rings into modern heirlooms made to be worn every day.
Our client came to us with a modern diamond ring that had been given to her as a meaningful gift. While she appreciated the sentiment, the design didn't reflect her personal style. Rather than leaving it unworn, she wanted to transform it into something she would reach for every day.

Reimagining the Design
Every bespoke commission begins with conversation before moving into design.
Instead of simply altering the existing ring, we explored several possibilities to find a design that would feel completely natural to the client's lifestyle.
She was drawn to clean silhouettes, sculptural forms and jewellery that could be worn effortlessly every day.
An east-west signet ring quickly emerged as the strongest direction. Rotating the oval diamond created a contemporary profile while the substantial gold signet gave the piece a quiet confidence without overpowering the stone.
Once the concept had been agreed, we produced a detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model. This allowed every proportion, curve and setting to be refined before production began, ensuring the finished ring would feel balanced from every angle.

Every bespoke commission begins with a detailed CAD, allowing each proportion and detail to be refined before the piece is handcrafted.
Below, you can see the complete transformation—from the original ring to the final handcrafted piece.
Turning a digital design into a finished piece requires precision at every stage.
Using the approved CAD model as our blueprint, the ring was carefully crafted in yellow gold before the original diamond was reset into its new east-west orientation.
Rather than looking like a remodelled ring, the goal was for it to feel as though it had always been designed this way.
Every surface was refined by hand before polishing, creating a smooth sculptural finish that allows the diamond to remain the focal point while giving the ring its distinctive contemporary character.
The Finished Piece
The transformation was subtle, yet complete.
The original diamond remained at the heart of the design, preserving the significance of the gift while giving it an entirely new identity.
Instead of sitting unworn in a jewellery box, it became a ring our client could wear every day with confidence.
This is what bespoke jewellery remodelling is all about—not replacing memories, but creating jewellery that continues to be part of your life.

Jewellery is made to be worn, not admired from a jewellery box.
Seeing our client wear the finished ring for the first time was a reminder of why we love jewellery remodelling. The original gift remained at the heart of the design, but the finished piece felt entirely her own.
